The story:
In the City of Lights, two star-crossed lovers battle a fate that is destined to tear them apart again and again for eternity.
When Kate Mercier's parents die in a tragic car accident, she leaves her life--and memories--behind to live with her grandparents in Paris. For Kate, the only way to survive her pain is escaping into the world of books and Parisian art. Until she meets Vincent.
Mysterious, charming, and devastatingly handsome, Vincent threatens to melt the ice around Kate's guarded heart with just his smile. As she begins to fall in love with Vincent, Kate discovers that he's a revenant--an undead being whose fate forces him to sacrifice himself over and over again to save the lives of others. Vincent and those like him are bound in a centuries-old war against a group of evil revenants who exist only to murder and betray. Kate soon realizes that if she follows her heart, she may never be safe again.
In this incandescent debut, newcomer Amy Plum has created a powerful paranormal mythology with immortal revenants. The Paris setting comes enchantingly alive as a relentless struggle between good and evil takes place in its streets. Rich with romance, atmosphere, and thrills, Die for Me will leave readers breathlessly awaiting its sequel
The view of a book addict:
My best friend told me I had to read this book, because she read it and loved it so much! So I listened to her and started reading it, I loved it! It’s such a wonderful story, a story I’ve never read before. Between all the book about vampires and werwolves this story was a breeze of fresh air.
I loved the romance in this book, but I also loved the action in it. For me it was the perfect combination and it was hard for me to put this book down.
The verdict of a book addict:
A great book and I’m so glad I’ve read it! Thanks to my best friend for recommending this book to me!
Total of Ratties:
Nice review. Short and sweet! I'm not sure I want to read this, but I've been hearing more good than bad.
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I like that you explained why you love it. I have only heard good things about this book so far.
ReplyDeleteI found you through Book Blogs and signed up to follow you. When you have a chance- please stop by and follow the blog for my middle grade novel that I am hoping to get published. http://thesecretdmsfilesoffairdaymorrow.blogspot.com/
Take care-
Jess- although I may show up as Fairday, the main character from my novel. I can't figure out why that happens sometimes and I can't fix it. :)
