Interview with Calisto and Kate

I was so excited when I recieved an e-mail from Lisa Kessler this week, she was going to do a blogpost today on my blog but she had another idea. I could interview Calisto and Kate if I wanted to, of course she didn't have to ask me twice if I wanted to do this. So a big thank you for Calisto and Kate for answering my questions! And a big thank you for Lisa for asking me if I wanted to do this. So everybody give a warm welcome to Calisto and Kate!

Hi Everyone –
I wanted to thank Annabel for her great interview questions for Calisto and Kate from my new novel, Night Walker.  I guess I’ll pass the keyboard to them...

Annabel:  First of all how are you both doing?

*Kate smiles and glances at Calisto, then over to Annabel*  We’re both very happy to be here tonight.

Annabel: I have some questions for Calisto first. How do you adjust yourself to every new century?

*Calisto meets Annabel’s eyes*  I fear I do not adjust well. I still cling to familiar music and books from my century.
*Kate smiles and pats his thigh* He still won’t let me set up an email account for him.
The computer is not an adjustment I ever plan to make. *a hint of a smile*

Annabel: How do you cope with everyone you lose in the meantime? I don’t think I could live that long and feel lonely.

*smile fades*  Since Tala’s murder, ordered by a man I once thought of as my friend, I distanced myself from everyone. In a way, perhaps that helped me to endure eternity.
Annabel: Which country do you prefer, Spain or America?

I have not seen my homeland since I came to the New World with Father Junipero Serra in the 1700’s, so I would say America is my home now.
Annabel: How would you describe your feelings for Kate?

*Taking Kate’s hand, he smiles at her, before gazing back at Annabel* How do you describe a feeling that is larger than words?
*Kate chuckles and shakes her head, smiling at Annabel* He tries to answer me with more questions too.
*Calisto’s smile fades, his voice deep with emotion* I love her more now than I ever have. She fascinates me and makes me laugh when I believed I had forgotten how.  Kate is the light to my darkness. The other half of my soul.
*He looks at Kate and adds* I am grateful and lucky to have her love in return.

Annabel: And now some questions for Kate... Like Calisto can you describe your feelings for him?

*Kate is still blushing from Calisto’s heartfelt words* Wow!  I’m not sure how I can follow that.  *Calisto’s smile widens* But I can say that before I met Calisto, I always felt like something was missing, almost like I was a stranger in my own life.
But from the moment I heard his voice, his Spanish accent, it all sparked something inside of me.  Not really a memory, but I felt comfortable with him. Safe. I confided secrets with him that I’d never shared with anyone. *holding Calisto’s hand a little tighter* That trust, knowing I wasn’t alone anymore, gave me an inner strength I never knew I had.

Annabel: Before I’m going to ask this question let me just tell you that you are such a great heroine! How did you find the strength to do all the things you did?! If I were you I wouldn’t know if I could handle everything like you did.

I didn’t know if I could handle it either!  *Kate laughs* I guess in the end you do what you have to do.  Live or die.  I’m glad I chose to live and keep moving forward.

Annabel: How do you handle knowing that your an old soul that has lived and loved this man before?

I have to admit that was creepy at first. My whole life I had this horrible nightmare, and to realize I was really seeing my own murder in a past life. *shudders and shakes her head, tightening her grip on Calisto’s hand again* As my past started to come back to me, I really thought I was losing my mind.
Calisto helped by filling in the blanks for me.  It did explain why I felt such a strong connection to him from the first moment we met, but I was glad that I fell in love with him before I remembered. Otherwise I might always wonder if it was real.
*Calisto nods* Kate is no longer Tala.  The past brought us together, but we have different lives now. I fell in love with the woman she is today.

Annabel: Kate, are you happy with the life you’re living now and the choices you’ve made?

Yes.  *smiles at Calisto* I like knowing whatever the future holds we’ll face it together.

Annabel: And finally a question for you both... What are your plans for the future?

*Lisa takes over the keyboard*   I can’t let them tell you that... LOL  I’m working on the edits for Night Demon (Book #2) so they’re not allowed to give you any spoilers.

We are keeping the conversations going on the Night Series facebook page!  You can visit at http://facebook.com/NightSeries
Thanks so much for the great interview quesitons, Annabel!!!
